Homemade Foods are much better than Processed Foods

Parents who really want to avoid their kids take up chemicals; organic baby food is a essential to them. The great thing about these products is that they are reasonably priced and readily available in your regular everyday supermarket. This is a great convenience for parents who want to feed their babies organic baby food instead of the regular fair.
Most health conscious parents today prefers to make their own baby food with the use of healthy ingredients compared to buying them from the stores. With the increasing levels of pollution around the world and the scarcity of resources that causes many product prices to be high, preparing your own wholesome baby food at home seems like a better choice for you and your baby. Moreover, homemade foods are much better than processed food because processed food contains many preservatives and colorings that may have negative effects on the human body. With just a little effort and time, you can always make your own healthy food in the comfort of your own home. Here are some ideas and suggestions of wholesome baby food you can try and make your little angels.
Home-prepared baby foods can be equally nutritious and more economical than commercially prepared baby foods. With home-prepared baby foods, the parent or caregiver has more control over the variety and texture of food than with commercial baby foods.
Healthy organic baby food is really a great choice to parents who wants to make certain that they know exactly what is good for their baby. Food that is grown in an organic environment can consist of everything from fruit to meat to nuts. However, it's a bit more costly than the standard food that we’ve all been eating for years. Each parent seems to side with either purchasing pre-packaged foods or they may decide to make their own. For parents who are juggling a new baby as well as a career, the already made organic baby food is usually more appealing. It comes in the same containers as the traditional baby food that we’ve all grown accustomed to seeing on store shelves. With many grocery chains now selling organic items including baby food, a parent can usually find it next to the other baby food items.
Preparing Homemade Baby Food
Careful about hygiene
As your baby starts taking solid foods you should be careful about hygiene. Babies do not have a well-developed immune system, so there is more chances to get infected.
Before you start preparing baby food-Wash your hands thoroughly.

It is better to sterilize the spoons and utensils that are meant for the baby, up to six months of his age.

If you are preparing baby food in advance it should be kept in the fridge and if it is not using within 24 hours, freeze it.

Reheating more than once is not advisable.

Before heating frozen foods make sure it is well defrosted. If your baby leaves foods in his plate, after he finishes eating, just throw it away. Don’t try to feed him again.

Offer him pre-boiled cool water.
Preparing Food
Some general tips to remember when making baby food include these:

a)    Begin with good quality food.  Use fresh food. Ideally, prepare foods for a baby immediately before use and avoid using leftover food.

b)    Cook foods until soft and tender.

c)     After pureeing food, liquid (cooking liquid, water, or fruit juice) can be added for a thinner texture.  As a baby gets older and develops better eating skills, the texture of foods can be changed.

d)    It is not necessary to add sugar, syrups, salt, seasonings, oil, butter, lard, cream, gravy, sauces, or fat drippings to the baby’s food.  When cooking foods for a group of children, separate out the baby’s portion before adding those ingredients.

e)     Never add honey to a baby’s foods because of the risk of getting a very serious illness, called infant botulism.
Do not use:
Home-canned food (if canned improperly, harmful bacteria could be in the food),
Outdated cans (if dated),
Food from dented, rusted, bulging, or leaking cans or jars, or food from cans or jars without labels.
Fruits and Vegetable Puree

Purees are good food that is easy to be prepared with the help of a blender that you can make on your own to feed your baby. However, the only downside of puree is that, your baby may not like the taste of the puree you have prepared for her or him. Hence, it is highly recommended that you should go for fruits that are sweet without any sugar addition and soft in texture.
As for the veggies, do remember wash and clean them properly. Then, boil them in hot water to kill all bacteria and mash them afterwards. In addition, you should remove the seeds, stems, pits of the vegetables to prevent from choking when they eat them. You can combine both fruits and vegetable together to bring interesting food to your baby’s taste buds. Moreover, when your baby loves the taste of the puree, you can add in nutritional baby supplements into it to have them consumed indirectly.
Wholesome Grain Rice

In order to prepare this food, you will need rice powder or rice flour. If you do not have them, you could grind rice to get it. After that, mix the rice with hot boiling water and stir the mixture. Stir it for at least ten minutes and add in honey to give some sweet taste to it. Do remember to let it cool down for a while before serving it to your baby. If you intend to add extra ingredients like carrot to the food, make sure they are well cooked and cut small enough to be swallowed as a whole.
These are just some examples of the recipes for your baby that you can make in your home. You could find other recipes too on the internet. However, make sure that your baby does not have any allergies to the food and ingredients you intend to make for him or her. The nutrition needs and growth of your baby depends largely on their daily diet. If you ever have any doubts of the nutritional benefits of the ingredients that you are going to use for wholesome baby food recipes and preparation, seek advice and help from doctor and health professionals
